The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) has adopted the Standard Reunification Method (SRM) as a best practice. The SRM was developed by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation as a research-based best practice of responding to critical incidents. The SRM provides a framework and process to reunify students with their parents/guardians in a safe, efficient, and organized manner following a crisis event.
