Description of Training: This training series will assist victim-serving multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) in understanding the basics of confidentiality law and best practices for the different disciplines represented on a MDT. It will explore inter-disciplinary collaboration with respect for confidentiality and appropriate information sharing.
Presented in a series of three sessions, participants will first learn about issues regarding federal confidentiality, collaboration, and information sharing. Next, participants will complete an off-line exercise and discuss through a facilitated interactive discussion. This will allow participants to discuss their own experiences, ask questions, and further engage with their peers in the field. Finally, the presenters will offer a series of eight technical assistance sessions. Each session will be for a specific type of victim-serving MDT. Participants are able to ask the presenters questions and discuss issues specific to their type of MDT.
