UPDATE:
As you are aware, Governor Northam has declared a state of emergency. As a part of this declaration, we have been directed to cancel large meetings and events. For this reason, the April 2, 2020 training on “Violations: Myths and Realities of Complex Sexual Cases” has been cancelled. We plan to reschedule it when the current emergency subsides.
Description of Training: This one-day training will cover the complexities, myths, and realities of multiple defendant rape, alcohol-facilited sexual assault, and campus sexual assault. This presentation will cover: conducting thoughtful and effective victim interviews; collaboratating successfully with allied professionals to protect the vicitm’s privacy and safety; overcoming challenges related to the prosecution of alcohol-facilitated sexual assault; investigating sexual assault cases where alcohol is present; responding to sexual assault cases to ensure accurate evidence-based decisions are made; and identifying and responding to the different dynamics and legal issues involved when there are multiple perpetrators or witnesses of sexual assault.
Participant Registration and Cost: Pre-registration is required. There is no cost to attend.
