October 3, 2016- June 5, 2017
The Virginia Center for School and Campus Safety (VCSCS), in partnership with the Virginia Fusion Center, is continuing a series of school safety and security conference calls to provide updates and discuss trends in safety and security across the Commonwealth. These calls will bring together staff from all school divisions in Virginia, as well as VCSCS and Fusion Center staff, and special guest representatives from other states’ school safety centers, the FBI, USDOE, among others. These calls will feature an array of topics such as the potential for terrorist attacks, school bomb threats, gang activity, as well as school safety/security initiatives, trainings, and related best practices across the Commonwealth.
Superintendents are asked to designate a contact in their division to participate in these conference calls. The contact could be your division’s emergency manager, safety and/or security director, hearing officer, or any other staff whose responsibilities include safety and security. The designee will receive future correspondence from the VCSCS regarding the Conference Call Series.
