Screening of Persons by Observational Techniques (SPOT) – Train the Trainer
Course Description:
This one day course is designed to provide law enforcement personnel an overview of threat and vulnerability analyses and how these can be used to improve an asset's security.
These analyses provide a basis for establishing effective defenses. Part of an effective defense system is being able to recognize indicators of potential terrorist attacks.
Course Objectives
The objective of SPOT is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to apply the screening of persons by observational techniques (SPOT) while
accomplishing their regular duties. Students will be able to incorporate SPOT into planning for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives (CBRNE) component
and device interdiction and implementing screening operations, non-intrusive inspection techniques, scene control, evacuation, and media relations.
Eligible Participants
Sworn members of law enforcement agencies
Must be a US Citizen
Two forms of identification will required during class sign-in. Failure to have the IDs will result in student being denied course entry.
Class size is limited
Equipment
Pen and paper, good attitude and open mind
Course Credit:
Students successfully completing the course will receive PIC hours
Costs
Tuition and course materials are free. Students are responsible for any other course related expenses
