Basic Crime Prevention Course

This course is being offered by the Southwest Regional Crime Prevention Association in partnership with the Virginia Crime Prevention Association (VCPA).

This 40 hour course will be awarded law enforcement in-service credit and meets the requirement for attending an introductory crime prevention course toward certification as a Virginia Crime Prevention Specialist.

Among the topics workshop participants will gain a practical knowledge of are:

  • History & Theory of Crime Prevention
  • Crime Prevention Law and Liability (4 hours legal)
  • Security Devices
  • Crime Prevention Resources
  • Cultural Diversity

Cost

The fee for VCPA members, representatives of in-state law enforcement and government agencies is $95 per individual. For all other individuals the course fee is $250. Payment by credit card or purchase order may be made via mail on the form available here. PAYMENT FORM

Only cash and checks will be accepted at the training site.

Cancellation:

Please notify the contact below at least five working days prior to the course if you must cancel. Failure to cancel registration will result in a $25 course cancellation fee.
